The Centre for Race and Culture is pleased to announce our latest publication:

Anti-Racism Education in Canada: Best Practices.

This new report provides a summary of best practices as well as examples of current initiatives in anti-racism education in Canadian cities. Districts have a diverse set of programs, documents and resources; as well as expert staff which the report draws upon and summarizes. Useful for any teacher, administrator, or individual interested in promoting equitable teaching and learning.

The Nehiyaw (Cree) Language Lessons being offered by the Centre for Race and Culture are different from any of the courses currently being offered in Edmonton. The methodology used to teach is called cahkipehikanak (syllabics), which is better known as the star chart, a traditional format that incorporates the cultural and philisophical teachings of the Nehiyaw language.
