Community Leaders: How to connect youth to Bamboo Shield PDF Print E-mail

Bamboo Shield is designed to help teens from age 13 to 17 as they grow through difficult adolescent years.  If you work with youth from refugee/ immigrant and/or Aboriginal communities, or know families in your community that might benefit from the Bamboo Shield program, please contact us to find out how we can help.

The program is ideally targeted to youths who meet at least some of these criteria.

  • Visible minority (Aboriginal, black, Indian, etc.)
  • A refugee or immigrant to Canada
  • Would benefit from positive role modelling with caring adults and mentors
  • Open to a racially and culturally sensitive teaching environment
  • May respond to strengthened relationships with parents, teachers and community members
