The Centre for Race and Culture's (CRC) early roots began in the education sector, working closely with teachers, administrators and post-secondary institutions to bring racial and cultural harmony into the classroom setting. Alberta's professional educators have become leaders and innovators in recognizing that our best chance of achieving intercultural harmony starts right at home, in our own classrooms with our own children.
Our extensive collection of school-based programming, classroom resources, professional development programs, and research reports are designed to help schools create an optimal learning environment for students. We have resources to help students see the big picture -- thinking and acting globally to bringing racial harmony close to home. We also have tools and strategies to deal with the in-your-face realities of today's classrooms, such as racism and intolerance in our multi-ethnic, multi-faith schools and communities. Finally, our research papers offer insights into new developments and trends in cultural and racial inclusion.
