Cultural Crossroads Catalogues PDF Print E-mail

The Centre for Race and Culture (CRC) is delighted to announce the release of our entire set of Cultural Crossroads Catalogues: bilingual, culturally appropriate, and anti-racism resources for all grade levels of school and one for teacher resources.

List of Resources to Support the new Social Studies Curriculum

In an effort to support the work of teachers implementing the new Social Studies curriculum,  the Centre for Race and Culture (CRC) hired reviewers to locate and critically review printed resources for both students and teachers that would support curricular themes and learning outcomes.

The annotated bibliography and reviews were submitted to the Ministry of Education in October 2005 and have been sent to school districts in the Greater Edmonton and Calgary area. Teachers will find these resources helpful in supporting the new Social Studies teaching and learning process.  Most are available through the internet, at public libraries and through local, regional, and national agencies publishing education materials.  The Teachers' Book Depository in Edmonton carries most of the resources.

The creation of these catalogues and funding to prepare them was generously funded by the Alberta Human Rights, Citizenship and Multiculturalism Education Fund.
