blackgirlshandsholdingglobe

The Migrant Routes program can be tailored to your audience, including:

  • Teachers
  • School board administrators
  • Pre-service teachers
  • Early childhood  educators and/or parents
  • Administrative and support staff
  • Parent councils and school councils
  • Other members of the school community

What will you learn about?

  • The Canadian immigration system
  • Challenges and barriers newcomers face
  • Strategies to create equitable and welcoming spaces
  • Tools  to ensure that policies and practices that seem neutral do not have discrimination built into them
  • Methods to build an inclusive school community where all students and families are realizing their full potential

Please note that Migrant Routes has been linked to specific outcomes in the grades 4, 5, 9, and 10 social studies curriculum

The Migrant Routes coordinator will work with you to deliver a workshop that meets the needs of your organization.  Workshops are available throughout the year and during daytime or evening hours.

Thanks to the generous support of Citizenship and Immigration Canada, Migrant Routes is offered at no cost.

Please contact the coordinator for more information.
